Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone!!!!
Today i am going to talk about 'Desa Sejahtera IIUM' project. This project is made by one of the rectors of IIUM to help people in need and to make the term 'Sejahtera' become reality. Dr. Suhaimi has given us the slides to see the progress of Desa Sejahtera so far. I was amazed after seeing those pictures because a lot of volunteers come to give help. This project is also one of the movements to achieve the goal of Greater Gombak in Selangor. The volunteers help in donating some basic necessities like clothes, food, and so on. Not to mention, they also go to their houses one by one to see their conditions.
This project made me realized the importance of helping people in need wherever you are. Giving and donating to the people in need is something that everyone should do because I think it is the best deed. Allah mentioned in Quran that if someone helps others, Allah will grant them a reward at Heaven. That is why this project triggers me and makes me realizes that I need to help other people in need even by donating RM1. Even the smallest deed will be counted by Allah. The project also teaches us how to be a good Muslim and a good representation of Islam to other people. I hope this project can be a platform for other people to give help to others.
Like Quran has mentioned;
"Cooperate with one another in goodness and righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression. And be mindful of Allah. Surely Allah is severe in punishment."
(Surah Al-Ma'idah verse 2)
