WEEK 5: MAQASID AL-SYARIAH

 Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! Okay now for this week's blog, I am going to talk about Maqasid Al-Syariah. What is Maqasid Al-Syariah? Maqasid Al-Syariah is the meaning and purpose required by the syara 'in prescribing a law to ensure the welfare of mankind. Maqasid Syariah has five principles.

After learning about this topic, I have realized the importance of Maqasid Syariah in our daily life and especially in sustainable development. It is because sustainable development must be aligned with the concept of Maqasid Syariah and we should not easily destroying nature. In Islam, Allah has taught us to protect our planet from any kind of corruption and chaos. People should apply the principles of Maqasid Syariah in order to be a good man. However, today in the globalization era, I could only see deforestation and many buildings were built and it is kinda sad to see many animals lost their habitats because of that. Nowadays, people only think about profits that they will gain from making corruption in this world. 

From the pictures above, we can see that many trees are being chopped by irresponsible people that only think about money. This news is very worrying and saddening because people did not apply the Islamic teachings in their life after they have achieved their goals. Allah has told us in Quran that we need to take care of our nature and avoid destroying it. Due to that, the animals are at risk of extinction especially tigers and tapirs. This situation is getting worse when the animals died on the road after they lose their places. 

Besides deforestation, illegal hunting is also one of the main factors that lead to animal extinction. People nowadays only think about the profits and forget about their main purpose on this planet. The tigers are being hunted because people want their skins to be the accessories in their houses. 

In terms of Maqasid Syariah, the Malaysian government should apply those principles in order to stabilize nature in our country. They should take serious actions over the irresponsible person that tries to destroy our land and animals. By taking those actions, our planet will be in a good condition and not experiencing global warming issues. I hope that everyone will reflect upon their wrongdoings and apply the Maqasid Syariah in their life.
